IMD405 - Assignment 2 Wk 1 Post 1 Learning Journal

Hi everyone, this is GaryZ reporting on his Personal Learning Journal for IMD405. First let me tell you that yes GaryZ knows he is talking in the third person about himself. He is kind of strange and unusual about that. Well viewers, week one was a good start at school. GaryZ is going to like his classes.

IMD405 is all about SEO or Search Engine Optimization and he is going to like this class. He knows that it is important and could make or break a website. He learned in class that it is ethical and ok to post your URL into tweets or posts that are relevant to the page or conversation. He knows some companies use this practice to create external links back to their clients’ sites thus promoting higher rankings in Google and other search engines. He knows that there are “white hat” and “black hat” practices and doesn’t want to use any black hat practices because he knows that being blacklisted by Google is a list that is almost impossible to get off of. He is not sure how he can get his Web Design URL into relevant posts or tweets but he will keep an eye out for the opportunity.
